Developing the design with an organizational strategy both “public yet private” and “modern yet traditional” proved challenging. At almost 200-feet in length, the interior layout developed by HST utilizes a layered program from public/entertainment, to a formal kitchen, a complete catering kitchen, large office and bar/wine storage, then through a threshold to a fitness room, two bedroom suites, and ends an the far west side with a large primary bedroom ensuite and enclosed porch capturing brilliant sunsets over the Raccoon River Valley/West Des Moines region.
